How To Save Money on Disney World Meals!

Hey there! In this article, I will go over several ways to save money on Disney World meals. I know all of us would love to tell our kids that there’s no limit to how much we spend on food. But in all reality, that is never going to happen for most of us!

There are a couple of really good ways you can save money on meals without compromising your magical vacation. You can travel with your snacks in your checked bag, then use your empty checked bag for souvenirs on your way home. You can also take an Uber to the grocery store, or you can have them delivered to your resort.

I will break down the cost and pros/cons of each option to help you decide which route is best for you and your family.

Taking your food with you, pros and cons:

Pros: Groceries near you are most likely cheaper than purchasing at a local store in Florida.

Cons: Not all food can travel in luggage, so your selection may be limited.

Taking an Uber to the nearest grocery store, pros, and cons:

Pros: You have a large selection to choose from and you can purchase cold items!

Cons: Round trip depending on what resort you are staying at, will cost you between $25.00-$35.00. Below, I have listed some local grocery stores with their addresses for your convenience!

Having groceries delivered to your Resort, pros, and cons:

Pros: You have a large selection to choose from and can purchase cold items just like you would with Uber. Some even deliver alcohol.

There are several delivery services to choose from that will deliver straight to bell services at your hotel or resort. You can choose between an email notification, text or both to notify you when your order has arrived. Your groceries will be separated out and your cold items will be placed in a refrigerated area while they wait.

Cons: There is usually a minimum amount you need to spend, and you should tip your bell service.

Delivery services near Disney World include:

Garden Grocer – There is a $15.00 delivery fee for orders under $200. There is no minimum order amount.

Instacart– The delivery cost will vary depending on the size of your order and your delivery time frame. It is a convenient way to shop but keep in mind you with not know the cost for delivery until you check out. $10.00 minimum order amount and they do deliver alcohol.

Shipt– This service is free to members on orders over $34.00 but does require a membership.

Dizzy Dolphin Delivery– The cost for this delivery service is $14.00 on orders less than $250.00 or free for orders more than $250.00. These guys will shop at a variety of different stores and wholesale clubs for you, but it can take up to 3 days to receive a quote for your order.

Walmart– Delivery fees are anywhere between $7.95 – $11.95 depending on your delivery time. This is probably the most convenient and cost-effective way to go but they do take a little longer to deliver than some of the other services. The minimum order amount is $30.00. No alcohol deliveries.

Amazon Prime Now– For those who need items besides groceries, this is the best option for you. It doesn’t matter if its shoes, charging cords or sunblock, fast delivery is available. Delivery cost is FREE for 2-hour delivery on orders over $35 ($4.99 if below $35), $9.99 for 1-hour delivery. The only downfall… You must be an Amazon Prime member. The good news is, Amazon Prime is free for your first 30 days! You can cancel whenever no strings attached!

Amazon Prime– If you choose to go with Amazon Prime (Amazon Fresh) and not Amazon Prime Now, there are some restrictions. Your selection on groceries may be limited to pre-packaged items only, such as granola bars and jerky. There is a $5.00 charge per package.
